Creativity is the new capital
How Innovation and Talent Attract Wealth in the Digital Age [Ricardo Vieira - 10/Mar/2025]
"Today, money has gravitated to where the smartest people are. To remain relevant in an environment of constant technological disruption, any initiative, of any size, essentially requires creativity." – Keith Ferrazzi, in Never Eat Alone.
So this basically means that creativity is not a luxury, it is practically one of the most important skills these days? Interesting. In a world where technological disruption redefines rules daily, companies and professionals who do not prioritize innovation are doomed to irrelevance?
Ok. But why? Based on Ferrazzi's very interesting reflections, I intend to share with the reader some of my key-highlights on this issue:
### Creativity: The New Currency of the Market
Artificial intelligence, automation and algorithms replace repetitive tasks, but they will never replace minds capable of connecting improbable ideas. Ferrazzi is right when he says that "where there is creativity, talent and innovation, profits follow". Some examples:
• Startups like OpenAI (ChatGPT) were born from teams that challenged the status quo.
• Brands like Apple have turned design and user experience into a billion-dollar advantage.
The secret? Creativity is not just about "having ideas". It's about solving problems in non-obvious ways, using limited resources.
### Technology + Talent = Exponential Innovation
Technological disruption is not a threat to creatives – it's a tool. Platforms like MidJourney (AI for art) or Notion (project management) amplify human talent.
But be careful:
• Tools are useless without strategic vision.
• The real difference lies in combining technical skills with critical thinking.
### How to Attract (and Retain) Creative Minds
For Ferrazzi, "Ventures" of any size depend on innovative talent. How to build this?
1. *Autonomy*: Creativity dies in controlling environments.
2. *Interdisciplinary collaboration*: Engineers + artists + philosophers = revolutionary solutions.
3. *Continuous learning*: Invest in courses, workshops and time for experimentation.
### The Future Belongs to “Systems Creators”
The next frontier is not mastering tools, but building antifragile systems that adapt to change.
• Example: Companies like Tesla don't sell cars – they sell sustainable energy ecosystems.
---
Practical Conclusion: If you want to attract capital, become a magnet for creativity.
---
So here are some tips (bonus for those who have made it this far!) that we have used successfully here at InovArt to achieve this:
• *Document your process* (whether in a blog, video or social media).
• *Foster strategic partnerships* (as Ferrazzi teaches: "never eat lunch alone").
• *Give preference to complex problems - capable of generating greater impact*, (if it were simple, someone would have already done it, right?).
• *Money follows value. And value, today, is born from minds that dare to think differently*.
---
I'll leave you with one final question: Are you building a repetition machine… or an innovation factory?
